I always recommend using the detangling spray every day in all my hair care regimes. Regular use of the detangling spray keep the hairs elasticity and reduces breakage when the hair is combed, brushed or styled.
Curly hair loves moisture and requires more hydration that any other hair type.
Curly hair thrives when it is maintained in a high moisture, high hydration focused environment. The protein that make-up curly hair are attracted to water but daily wear and tear, blow drying, hair straightening etc strips the hair of the much needed moisture.
Regular shampooing and conditioning generally allow the hair to be given the moisture needed but there is a need when for the detanglig spray when you have not washed or conditioned your hair.
Frequent cleansing greatly improves the hairs moisture content and encourages your hair to bind within the hair shaft each time. Ideally, you want to make sure that water is introduced to the hair at least 2 or 3 times a week. If you have not had a healthy hair regime, you may want to consider doing it a few more times until the hair is healthy and well hydrated.
Does water dry out the hair?
No. Dry hair and dry scalp comes from using products that are not suited for frequent use or are not designed for curly hair.
Avoid using products that are:
- Silicone heavy, oily or greasy
- Harsh stripping shampoos that are intended to remove oily conditioners, moisturisers and grease.
